It depends. If you file Chapter 7 generally speaking student loans in bankruptcy are non-dischargeable. Thus nothing happens. If you file Chapter 13 they student loans are still generally non-dischargeable. Still, some trustees require the student loans in bankruptcy to be paid through the plan.
